Our amazingly talented friend Rachel Rodin has started a styling business, clothes that is- in NYC. We helped her out with business cards and launch materials. It came out brilliantly!

NW Hills Progress Photos

Finally some progress pics from NW hills residence, the interior is coming along- but still have work to do!

Today we closed on the site for our next house build. She's a half acre beauty with lovely trees and a little bit of topography to work with! Stay tuned for updates on the design process and construction! What would you want to have if you were designing your dream house?

All Packed Up...!

Last week we said goodbye to 8th street and handed over the keys to the new owners. While it was sad to leave the new owners are in love with the house, which makes me very happy. For now we are camped out in a rent house awaiting baby #2, due literally any minute. Then on to the next house build adventure! More to come...!

Saturday was a whirlwind of a day! Of course we just narrowly had the house ready to show, with a two year old around it is like trying to fill a colander with with water. Luckily she happily went to play with cousins and aunts that morning so we could get "Show Ready". With snow still sitting on the deck Saturday morning, I was not optimistic about the turnout- however once things got rolling it was quite crowded all day, estimating about 1200 people. We were also happy to host the lovely folks at Chameleon Cold Brew Coffee, they set up a sample station in the courtyard, unfortunately I could not sample the yummy looking coffee with 3 times the caffeine due to my "condition" (8 mo prego)- but Patrick said it was quite good.
That night I was on a discussion panel about Modern Residential Architecture at Bo Concept downtown moderated by Ingrid Spencer of Architectural Record and Kristina Wise of the Good Life Team. Also on the panel was the Director of the Interior Design Program at the Art Institute of Austin, Nick Mehl, Scott Specht and Kevin Alter. I was also having "wardrobe issues" due to my condition once again, not happy with the outfit selection that I ended up having to wear all day as there were still about 125 people in my house when it was time to depart for the panel, kind of makes changing clothes a bit awkward!
All in all a "great success" and a fitting send off to my 8th street baby as we inch near closing AND the start to another build! More to come....!!

2309 E. 8th "In the Spotlight"

2309 E.8th was featured in the Austin American Statesman. http://www.statesman.com/business/real-estate/in-the-spotlight-east-eighth-street-house-on-1218096.html  in the Sunday paper. We are also super excited to have the house under contract- we are on to inspections this week and hopefully a smooth close. Our time here has been superb and I absolutely love this house, but the time had come to start a new project! The article and the Modern Homes Tour that the house is on this weekend 2/5 are a really nice send off to our beloved East side abode!

Lots of very detailed, intricate, painstaking, exhausting work has been done inside Cliffy- even though it doesn't look like much- it has been a looooong time in coming. We did a "modern coffered"  ceiling in the office, wallpapered with beautiful Kravet paper and added some much needed storage via IKEA kitchen cabinets (with their blue protective coating still on)- they always come through in a pinch. Still have to install the West Elm Parsons desk in white and a "zebra" rug. We are on our way!

 Reintroducing Cliffwood, a beautiful house that needed a little work. We started a while ago on the outside and added a breathtaking pool and landscaping. we have changed our focus in the past few months to the inside, more to come on that!!!

E&B's sexy new window

Glass corner window for the new dining room was installed and it's a beaut-ee!! Plus new steel beam went in to opening up living room!

B & E's South Austin Remodel-Part 2

B & E's South Austin Remodel-Part 1

Progress has started on B & E's remodel. We redesigned the interior to open up the living space, while dividing the existing family room to create a dining room with a gorgeous cantilevered glass corner and a new guest bedroom. We also opened up the new living room to a big new patio with a fire pit.
